Friday SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN

click for link. "Hobo Film Festival" until late at night, almost a little too authentic with homeless and self-confessed hobos gathered around a fire next to the railroad tracks. Moggy and I stayed for a movie short and a documentary about boys riding freight trains, trying to make a living during the Great Depression. The show was great, but by the time we left we were cold despite the hot "Cafix" Moggy brought in a thermos. How cute! It's called "Caro Kaffee" in Germany, by the way, and my parents love it. And we smelled so horribly of smoke that I had to take a shower as soon as I got home. Otherwise a pretty funky event to go to. I almost forgot, I met Rob, "photographer and part-time mailman", whom I hadn't seen in years, and apropos familiar faces: Library IT guy Wes apparently leads a double life and turns into a guerilla movie projectionist and drive-in organiser every other Friday night.
